Arcado Elementary Lunchtime Thoughts…
August 26th, 2009 Categories: Lilburn, Parkview, Things to do
The “Lunch Lady” did NOT have an easy job.
One of the reasons that I embarked on my career in real estate is that I wanted to be able to spend more time IN the lives of my children. And today has definitely been a rung in that ladder. I volunteered to help the small kids with lunch at Arcado Elementary School in Lilburn, GA.
Basically, the kindergartners need a Read the rest of this entry »

Total Power… would you expect anything else?
August 22nd, 2009 Categories: Lilburn
Back a few months ago, my neighbor had a large tree come down in his yard. Several of us came out to give him a hand.
To start with, the tree needed to get out of the street. And then Read the rest of this entry »

I’m a Bruster’s Booster…
August 18th, 2009 Categories: Lilburn, Parkview
It was one of the first clear words from our oldest son… OK, it wasn’t that clear, but we knew what he meant…
Boosters…
I mean Bruster’s…
After a game at Parkview, a lap around the Mountain Park Park or even a hike up to the top of Stone Mountain, what could be better than a scoop from Bruster’s? Not much… Ice cream rocks! And Read the rest of this entry »

Millenium Cycle Works, get your Ride on…
August 14th, 2009 Categories: Lilburn
I have been visiting Millenium Cycle Works since before they moved to their current location. They always seem to have a lot of cool cycles in stock.
Cruisers, Sport Bikes, Dirt Bikes, ATVs, UTVs, Scooters and even Personal Water Craft.
They carry Kawasaki and Yamaha motorcycles and other vehicles, as well as accessories and parts… and service. With a wide variety of each.
Best of all, Read the rest of this entry »

Conversations with Lilburn, GA, First Time Home Buyers
July 29th, 2009 Categories: For Buyers, Lilburn

590 Baltimore Ave.
I held an open house today in Lilburn, on 590 Baltimore Ave. During the open house I had the opportunity to speak with several first time home buyers. The conversations with first time home buyers in Lilburn, GA, were certainly enlightening…
Keep in mind that the home I as holding open was priced at nearly $400,000. In this area, that isn’t the normal territory for first time home buyers. And these folks were no exception… looking primarily in the $150k-$200k range. Read the rest of this entry »

Take your dog for a walk in Lilburn, GA
July 26th, 2009 Categories: Lilburn
Dogs in Lilburn, GA, want to walk, run and play… They want to go to the park… Luckily, Ronald Reagan Park at Five Forks has a pair of doggy recreational areas for our sniffy companions.
The two areas are set aside for dogs under or over 20 pounds. There is also a dog run that connects the two areas and allows drag racing dogs room to get up to speed. Both areas also feature some obstacles for the dogs to play on, and even a Doggy Water Bar.
Dogs in Lilburn have it made… being able to shirk the leash and spend some quality time running with the other four legged floor vacuums. Read the rest of this entry »

USA Today tosses some props at Gwinnett
July 21st, 2009 Categories: Lilburn
USA Today had a story recently about suburbs… It is an interesting read. It would have been interesting to see the direction that the growth would have gone if we hadn’t had a financial system meltdown and real estate bubble burst… Read the rest of this entry »

Have you been to the Mountain Park Aquatic Center? If you live around Lilburn or Mountain Park, I’m sure you have noticed there on Rockbridge Road near Five Forks, just up the road from Kroger. But have you been there?
It is a great facility. In addition to the community center which hosts a variety of events, there is the outside recreational pool, an inside instructional pool and the lap pool. Read the rest of this entry »

Gwinnett County Parks #1!
July 13th, 2009 Categories: Lilburn, Things to do
Did you know that? I keep seeing it on a couple of Parks’ signs that are near me in Lilburn. Gwinnett County Parks & Recreation named #1 in the USA. But it hadn’t really sunk into me…
So I decided to check it out. I had NO clue of the level of commitment that Gwinnett had to its parks. There are so many more facilities than the ones I was aware of… and having lived in several parts of Gwinnett in my 20 years here, I have been aware of a lot of the parks.
