Hockey Boy at Arcado Elementary
November 23rd, 2009 Categories: Lilburn
Garrett has been wondering since the beginning of school when he would be able to show the other kids in his class what kind of equipment he wore to play ice hockey. Today was the day that he was able to do that…
I took his equipment bag to school this afternoon, along with some extra pads and gear for the kids to pass around and try on. Garrett got dressed as we explained what each piece of gear did. We also fielded questions from his classmates about hockey, equipment and ice skating. Read the rest of this entry »

Lilburn Daze, Saturday October 10th, 2009
October 8th, 2009 Categories: Lilburn, Things to do
For the last 35 years, local crafters and entertainers have gathered at Lilburn’s City Park to display their crafts and entertain the spectators and shoppers… For the 36th Annual event this year, it will be no different… and don’t forget to bring an appetite as well. If you like craft and art shows, as well as good festival food and a variety of music, you should fit right in. Read the rest of this entry »

I would love to get some more local flavor into Lilburn Dwellings. To that end, one of the things I’d like to do is feature more local businesses. I have done a few local business posts, and I’d like to have more.
If you are a local business owner or manager, and you’d like to have your local business featured here, let me know. It will be free.
There are some great businesses in and around Lilburn, and some great business people. I want everyone to know how great it is to be here, work here and live here. Read the rest of this entry »

Water, Water, Everywhere… DANGER WILL ROBINSON…
September 23rd, 2009 Categories: Lilburn
I wrote a post not long ago about how water (uncontrolled) can destroy your house, and how simple things like gutters and paint can protect your investment.
But this isn’t abut anything so trivial…
If you haven’t been paying attention to the news… or you aren’t reading this post in mid to late September (2009), we are having some serious water issues here in Atlanta. The words 100 year flood are making the rounds… and I have NO reason to not believe that. I have been here 20 years and have never seen anything like this. Read the rest of this entry »

Arcado Elementary Lunchtime Thoughts…
August 26th, 2009 Categories: Lilburn, Parkview, Things to do
The “Lunch Lady” did NOT have an easy job.
One of the reasons that I embarked on my career in real estate is that I wanted to be able to spend more time IN the lives of my children. And today has definitely been a rung in that ladder. I volunteered to help the small kids with lunch at Arcado Elementary School in Lilburn, GA.
Basically, the kindergartners need a Read the rest of this entry »

Total Power… would you expect anything else?
August 22nd, 2009 Categories: Lilburn
Back a few months ago, my neighbor had a large tree come down in his yard. Several of us came out to give him a hand.
To start with, the tree needed to get out of the street. And then Read the rest of this entry »

I’m a Bruster’s Booster…
August 18th, 2009 Categories: Lilburn, Parkview
It was one of the first clear words from our oldest son… OK, it wasn’t that clear, but we knew what he meant…
Boosters…
I mean Bruster’s…
After a game at Parkview, a lap around the Mountain Park Park or even a hike up to the top of Stone Mountain, what could be better than a scoop from Bruster’s? Not much… Ice cream rocks! And Read the rest of this entry »
